Typical Day
We make sure children get opportunities to learn and develop each day at The Cottage Nursery.
Our routines are key to making children feel safe and welcomed. A routine offers child a sense of safety and security that is the foundation to happiness and learning.
We may work with a number of visiting professionals on planned days of the week that offer children Football, Fitness Fun, Singing and Signing, Rhyme Time and Yoga.
We have scheduled visits to the local Library and nature walks that get our children out and about.
Routines
To have an inclusive setting for participation of all children in activities we do, we typically will follow the following routine unless we plan an offsite activity (outing) such as visit to a museum etc.
- 7:30 – 8:30 am: Breakfast
- 8:30 – 9:30 am: Circle time
- 9:30 – 10:30 am: Learning Activity – Art, Craft, Cook, etc.
- 10:30 – 11:00 am: Mid morning Snack
- 11:00 – 11:30 pm: Forest School / Outdoor Activities
- 11:30 – 12:00 pm: Lunch
- 12:00 – 1:00pm: Music / Story time / Nap time
- 1:00 – 2:00pm: Open format play
- 2:00 – 2:30pm: Afternoon snack
- 2:30 – 4:00pm: Forest School / Outdoor Activities
- 4:00 – 5:00pm: Tea / Dinner
- 5:00 – 6:30pm: Indoor play
